Tomales Bay Kayaking Outing Fall 2019

Tomales Bay Kayaking


Kayak over the San Andreas fault on Tomales Bay, passing from the North American to the

Pacific Plate. Overnight at a boat-in only campsite in Point Reyes National Seashore’s Tule Elk

Range. Practice Leave No Trace camping. Next day, paddle back to cars and return home.

Dates: Leave Saturday Oct 12, 7AM ; Return Sunday, Oct 13, 3:30PM
Location: Tomales Bay, Pt. Reyes National Seashore
Activities: Kayak, beach camp, earthquake hike, photography, wildlife, BBQ oysters, s'mores
Appropriate for: All scouts rated Swimmer in a BSA swim test 
Requirements: BSA Swimmer. Current BSA Med forms (A,B). Kayak rental waiver.
Cost: $ 120.00 for transportation, 1⁄2 of a 2-person kayak rental, dinner, breakfast, and kayak
gear. Scouts bring sack lunch for Saturday and $10 for a lunch stop on the drive home Sunday.
Maximum: 12 scouts (14 participants total). Register early to assure a space.
Equipment: Wear swim suit and water-appropriate shoes – you will get wet. Blue Water
Kayak will provide wetsuits, splash jackets, paddles, and kayaks.
Pack list emphasizing packing light will be provided to participants in advance by e-mail.  We carry everything on the boats.

refundable check made out to “Troop 57, BSA”. Deadline: September 30.
