Scouts, it's started snowing, so now it's time to think about SNOW CAMPING! It's been a dry winter, but snow is finally falling.  See the picture below which I took on Sunday up at Lake Alpine, where we went camping last winter.  There's already plenty of snow.
Snow camping offers you the chance to learn new survival skills (like building snow shelters) and put the ones you already know to a true test.  This is no car camping trip: you'll hike over 1 1/2 miles on snowshoes, sleep two nights outdoors, go sledding, and have fun.  If you've never done it, ask any scout who has -- several have done this trip multiple times.  In Eagle Courts of Honor, snow camping always comes up as one of the most exciting and memorable trips.
