February 12th Court of Honor

On Sunday, February 12th, scouts gathered to celebrate each other’s new rank and merit badge achievements. Scouts brought food to share and socialized before the ceremony. After 30 or so minutes of that, we celebrated our new 57 and 4057 Eagle Scouts: Beck, Piper, and Kade, for their amazing achievement of the Eagle rank! I briefly interviewed Piper Lyons, our newest 4057 Eagle Scout, (Go T4057!) on how it felt to be recognized for her achievement after years of preparation: “Becoming an Eagle Scout is so surreal. As mentioned in my speech, it is a goal I never thought I would accomplish as girls weren’t allowed in Scouting until the end of my 8th grade year. It was so nice to be surrounded by so many people who have supported me throughout my whole experience,” Piper says. We then took a short break after the Eagle ceremony and started the Court of Honor. So many scouts advanced in their ranks this term, and in 4057 and 57 combined, there were over 100 merit badges earned! The Court of Honor officially ended at around 3:00, lasting about 2 1/2 hours. Before leaving, we looked at the Eagle scouts’ posters/presentations of their scouting journeys, and had a short reception (with some delicious cake). Congratulations Scouts!-Hailey Matta T4057 Historian
