Why Join Scouts?

Scouts BSA (formerly Boy Scouts of America) is an organization that teaches young adults how to be leaders, nature lovers, good people, and resourceful adults. Over the course of several years in Scouts, as Scouts learn new skills and grow more confident, they move closer to the highly coveted Eagle Rank.

Scout is all about establishing good morals and habits. Even the scout slogan is “Do a good turn daily” and morality, kindness, and empathy are integrated into every part of Scouting, from camping to weekly meetings.

Scout Oath: On my honor I will do my best to do my duty to God and my country and to obey the Scout Law; to help other people at all times; to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake, and morally straight.

Scout Law: A Scout is trustworthy, loyal, helpful, friendly, courteous, kind, obedient, cheerful, thrifty, brave, clean, and reverent.

Scout Mission: The mission of the Boy Scouts of America is to prepare young people to make ethical and moral choices over their lifetimes by instilling in them the values of the Scout Oath and Scout Law.
