October Librarian Update

My name is Calista Chow-Gregory and this term I am your Troop Librarian.

If you need any help with books or merit badge pamphlets you can email me:) I know a lot of patrols are going on their fall campouts and for those of you cooking, I decided to write about cooking with a Dutch oven. Dutch oven cooking is a very cool way to cook. You can saute, simmer, braise, sear, fry and bake. It is also a way to help you complete requirements for the Cooking merit badge. Dutch ovens are used a lot in camping because it is a very versatile way of cooking. You can cook meat, stew, cobbler, and more. Since Dutch ovens are thicker than stainless steel pots they maintain a constant temperature. When they heat up the food gets cooked evenly and turns out delicious. I have linked an article on easy Dutch oven recipes below if any of you guys are interested in trying them out at your next campout.

Thanks,
Calista, your Troop Librarian 🙂
