On 2/21, Aiden Chan led scouts as they joined Grassroots Ecology for a volunteer outing at Shoreline Lake in Mountain View. We learned about the history of Shoreline Park and how people have worked to restore the area to support native plants and wildlife. In the first half of the event, we planted native plants like California sagebrush and watered them to help them grow strong. Later, we helped clean up the area by trimming and removing faded parts of other plants. The staff encouraged us to come back in a few months to see how the plants are doing. It was a fun, hands-on experience, and it felt great to help the environment!
